wow, it’s been awhile since i wrote in. I was struck with the dreaded dengue fever and was entombed in the hospital for about a week PLUS another week of recovery, hence the long absence from this blog.

however, it was with much determination that I decided to continue with the plan of performing at the Arts House for Tonequest and I am so glad I did the show. It was very well, turnout far exceeded expectations (including that of the organise), AND my bass solo tunes got an audience for the very first time!

For those who did not make it down, I played “Stormy Weather” - a brand new piece which included an intro using the violin bow on my bass, and “Sojourn” which you can hear on myspace.com/wendyphua. I will be uploading a video of “Stormy Weather” on this web very soon. Mean while you can view some pictures taken at the gig under the “Photos” section of this web.

I’m currently working on more songs for my solo album and will be posting more on the process of my recording now that I’m DONE with dengue. ciao for now

As a fulltime musician Randolf walks the fine often blurred line between professional and artistic. His unique attitude and approach on the guitar treating it more like a paintbrush is a deft combination of eclectic musical tastes with ever evolving technology ever seeking to discover and add new colors, textures and depths to his reverence for song and sound craft. As a sought-after performer, speaker, educator at events he’s become a regular feature at the annual “TAGS” (The Art of Gear Stomping), Music for Good- music gear and performance and has been chosen to represent Gibson Guitars at WOMAD 2007 (World of Music, Arts & Dance) Festival 2007 and the coming TONEQUEST event. Currently performing solo live weekly at Harry’s Harbour Front and Millenia Walk, Randolf is a featured performer representing Singapore to be held in Oct this year for the Y2K7 International Live Looping Festival held in Santa Cruz North California USA. Randolf together with Wendy Phua is also working to complete and release recordings of originals under his project group “The Embryo”.

Mary Ho is considered at her age of 71 the coolest Grandma in S’pore and quite possibly around the world because she loves electric lead guitar, practises, plays and is currently recording her debut album of some of her all time favourite guitar instrumentals.

Hi, thanks for swinging by this space. If you are here to find out more about my music and gigs, I apologise for the lack of web content as of now since this website is just fresh off the press.

Hopefully I can get the web up and in full swing by next week, with some bits of info, fotos, gig details, videos and samples of my music. It is definitely exciting to finally have my very own website going now and this is going to be a space where I’ll be posting some thoughts on my musical works and recordings as I go along. Somewhat like an open music diary.

Meanwhile just a quick note that I’ll be sessioning for a kick-ass band Inifinity at Hard Rock Cafe (Singapore) this coming Saturday night. So come on by and have a coupla drinks with me. The more you drink .. the better I … well you know the drill.
